Grooved Rollers

Grooved Rollers are defined as any roller with formed grooves for urethane belts or v-belts. Both are limited by the range of tubes that can be grooved. Omni offers two standard formed groove sizes and several standard v-belt sizes.

Groove Sizes

§  Formed Narrow Grooves are 5/16” wide and made for 3/16” diameter belt

§  Formed Wide Grooves are 1/2” wide and made for 1/4” diameter belt

§  V-Belt Grooves can be made for any standard v-belt

 

Tubes

§  For Formed Grooves:

§  Tube sizes limited to 1 3/8”, 1 5/8”, 1.9”, & 2 1/2” diameters

§  Tube Thickness from 18 ga. up to 3/16” thick

§  Available for Mild Steel, Galvanized Steel, and Aluminum

§  For V-belt Grooves:

§  Tube sizes from 1.9” and up

§  Tube must be 11 ga. or thicker

§  Available for Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum

§  Coatings include Urethane and Vinyl Sleeves, Cast Urethane Coatings, Millable Urethane Coatings and Vulcanized Rubber Coatings

§  Plating options for Zinc, Chrome, or Nickel

§  Heat Treating option for a surface hardness up to Rockwell C 62

§  Assembly Options Include:

§  Press Fit

§  Crimped (Swaged)

§  Welded End Plates (Bosses) with internal bearings

§  Fully Welded Tube & Axles

 

Axles

§  For Formed Grooves:

§  Axle sizes limited from 1/4” to 3/4"

§  For V-belt Grooves:

§  Axles must be 7/16” or larger

§  Shapes include Hex, Round, and Square

§  Materials include Mild Steel and Stainless Steel

§  Axle Retentions include:


§  Spring

§  Cotter Pin                       

§  Hog Ring                        

§  Snap Ring

§  Tapped Ends

§  Threaded Ends

§  Milled Flats      

§  Keeper Bar Slot


§  Center Puck option to prevent axle deflection and increase load capacity


Bearings

§  Non-Precision

§  A full ball complement in a stamped metal body

§  Zinc plated for better corrosion resistance

§  Recommended for light loads and slow speeds

§  Not intended for quiet operation

§  Very cost effective

 

§  Semi-Precision

§  Made of machined steel with tighter tolerances than non-precision bearings

§  Includes a ball retainer to keep the balls separated and evenly spaced 

§  Capable of higher speeds and higher load capacities than non-precision bearings

§  Available in stainless steel

 

§  ABEC Precision

§  Made from high quality, heat treated steel and ground to a micro finish with tolerances much tighter than semi-precision bearings

§  Capable of even higher speeds and higher loads than semi-precision bearings

§  Sensitive to axle deflection which may limit load capacity in long rollers

§  Recommended for quiet operations

§  Many styles available including polypropylene housed, insert, agricultural, Framesavers, and more

 

§  Bushings

§  Solid pieces of material with no moving parts

§  Materials include UHMW, Hardwood, Teflon, Nylon and more 

§  Recommended for use in extreme temperatures, dirty environments, corrosive environments, or sanitary conditions depending on the material
